What a joy it was to have our distinguished guest, Teeny Tucker, lead us in our second annual Harlem Nights celebration. Teeny was a perfect host talking about the Harlem Renaissance and the important role especially of female Blues singers. She sang, we danced, we bought artwork, and ate good food (Thank you Omar’s Caribbean Cuisine) and we had a great time talking and meeting with our neighbors. And of course, there was a lot of sparkle, feathers, and fringe everywhere.

A little more about Teeny: She was born in Dayton and is the daughter of the acclaimed Blues singer Tommy Tucker. She has been nominated multiple times for the Blues Foundation Music Awards and the Blues Blast Music Awards.

Check out her most recent CD “Put on your red dress baby” which was nominated for Traditional Album of the Year and Traditional Female Blues Artist of the Year. Visit her web site at: https://teenytucker.com/
