Unity Community Center joined with Ohio Wesleyan University to show our first outdoor movie event on Labor Day 2025. Over 100 people attended what started as a balmy Monday night to officially end the summer. We were honored to listen to the poetry of Travis McClerking, a spoken word artist. We heard the music of Terry Hermsen that connected us to the Labor movement and how music can impact messaging. And Dr. Michael Flamm, from the history department at OWU, helped make the historical connections and significance of the Harlem Cultural Festival of 1969. A special thank you to Dr. Paul Dean from Ohio Wesleyan and the students and community members who attended.  Thank you to Women Giving Together to make this event possible. It was a beautiful, yet chilly night to take in the music that made such an impact on American life.
